Coast Range Heliskiing Safety
Every year at Coast Range Heliskiing we begin with a thorough and intensive pre-season training program for our guides and staff. From practice rescue scenarios to operational safety, from helicopter procedures to communicational planning, our team goes through every fine detail.
All our Mountain Ski Guides have prior training and certification through organizations such as the ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides), GSGA (Canadian Ski Guides Association), CAA (Canadian Avalanche Association) as well as being trained and certified with current first aid tickets.
Our guides meet each morning and at the end of the day to discuss weather, snow stability and terrain observations and analysis. This information then provides the basis and dynamics to plan and co-ordinate our heliski program and field operations.
We know that many of our guests have limited experience in the backcountry, which is why we begin each and every ski day with a thorough safety briefing. We teach you how to use your personal safety equipment and proper helicopter etiquette, we cover all the important details. However, if you have further questions our knowledgeable and experienced guides are always ready to assist.
